IJMC Moe and Joe

			IJMC - Moe and Joe

I remember hearing this story (or at least a version of it) told around a
campfire one night years ago. I always wanted a copy of it and a nice man
sent me one. So I'm passing it along to all of you. Enjoy! -dave

P.S. I am definately easily amused. I spent a fair amount of time earlier
today trying to download the Intel Indeo CODEC for use with Video for
Windows (Quicktime for Windows was nice and came with it). I finally
managed to find it, complete the download, and install it. And it was
worth it. Why? Because I could watch the old Transformers intro with it.
Several hours of work for a 30 second cartoon intro! Just thought I'd
bore you all with that...on with the story!

 A story

There were these two horse named Moe and Joe. They were raised to
be race horses. As they began their careers, however, it became obvious
that Joe was beating Moe every single time. One day, Moe finally got
tired of it. He went up to Joe after the race and said, "Look. Every
day you win, and it's starting to get a little discouraging. How about
letting me win just once?" So Joe thought it over and said, "OK."

The next day came and Moe went to the track very excited. He was
going to get to win! The gate dropped and off they went. Moe pulled way
into the lead and went charging happily around the tack. But, just as
they neared the finish line, Joe put on a burst of speed and won the
race. Moe went to him afterwards and said, "Hey! What the hell was
that? You were supposed to let me win!"

Joe shrugged. "You wouldn't have felt good about it because you
would have known that you hadn't really won."

"I would have felt fine," Moe said. "Tomorrow, let me win."

   "Ok." Joe said.

The next day came, and once again, Moe took the lead. And, once
again, Joe zoomed ahead at the end and won the race. Moe went up to him
afterwards. "Look," he said. "Forget the race. Do you remember when we
were ponies and we used to run and play in the field, and it was just
for fun, not competition?"

   "Yes." Joe said.

   "Let's do that tomorrow."

   "Well, OK."

So the next day they went looking for a field to play in. After
several hours, they came to one.

"How about this one?" Joe asked.

   "Not green enough." Moe said.

A few hours later, they came to another field.

"How about this one?" Moe asked.

   "Not big enough" said Joe.

A few hours later, they came to yet another field.

"How about this one?" Moe asked

   "Not soft enough." Joe said.

Finally they came to another meadow.

"Is it green enough?" Joe asked.

"Yes," Moe said. "Is it big enough?"

"Yes," Joe said. "Is it soft enough?"

   "Yes," Moe said.

And so they began happily playing in the field. After a bit, a dog
came wandering past. He saw the two horse and sat and watched them for
awhile. Eventually they stopped to rest, and the dog went walking over
to them.

"Hey, What're you guys doing?" the dog asked.

The horses stared at the dog a moment, then Joe looked at moe in
total amazement.

   "Hey! It's a talking dog!!!"
